About

NP3 Arena, originally known as Idrottsparken, Sundsvalls idrottspark, Sundsvalls IP, is a football and event arena located in Sundsvall, Sweden, with a focus on football and equipped with artificial turf since 2004. The facility was completed on August 6, 1903, and underwent renovations from 2001 to 2002, now accommodating approximately 8,000 spectators during football matches (including around 5,000 under cover). During concerts, the capacity expands to approximately 25,000 spectators.

GIF Sundsvall (men's football) and Sundsvalls DFF (women's football) call NP3 Arena their home stadium. IFK Sundsvall also used to play football at the venue but now resides at Baldershovs IP.

Between 1969 and 1973, bandy matches were also held at Idrottsparken, serving as the home ground for Selånger SK in the Bandy Allsvenskan. The arena has been utilized for tennis, bowling, shooting, athletics, as well as various exhibitions and concerts. Speedway was also hosted here during the 1940s.

In addition to football, NP3 Arena currently hosts concerts, featuring renowned artists such as Elton John, Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Roxette, Eagles, Sweet, Gyllene Tider, Per Gessle, Ulf Lundell, Zara Larsson, Martin Garrix, Steve Angello, Icona Pop, Alan Walker, and Robert Wells (Rhapsody in Rock). Since the summer of 2017, the Sensommar festival has been held at the arena.

The football attendance record dates back to October 15, 1961 when 16,507 spectators witnessed the match between GIF Sundsvall and Högadals IS (2-4) in the Allsvenskan qualification. Since the major renovation, the record stands at 8,255 during the match between GIF Sundsvall and Djurgårdens IF on May 12, 2002 (2-1). The concert attendance record is 22,337 when Gyllene Tider performed at the arena on August 13, 2004, during their GT25 tour.
