Gamla Ullevi is a football stadium located in the city centre of Gothenburg. 

The stadium opened on 5th April 2009 and replaced the city’s previous main football stadium, also called Gamla Ullevi which was inaugurated on September 17, 1916.

Gamla Ullevi is the home ground of three major football clubs in Gothenburg, GAIS, IFK Göteborg and Örgryte IS. It is also the national stadium for the Sweden women’s national football team. 

Trivia

  • The first competitive match at the stadium on 5 April 2009 was a derby between the two Gothenburg rivals Örgryte IS and GAIS, attracting 17,531 spectators.
